About the work
A large wall hanging in bands of colour that change slowly from top to bottom, from the slate grey of a rain sky to the deep green of the season after. The wool was dyed with indigo and leaves from Rashid's own garden.
Condition
Excellent. Fitted with a hanging sleeve and batten.
Provenance
Acquired from the artist by the present owner, 2021.
The artist
Rashid weaves large wall hangings on a floor loom, in hand-spun wool and sisal dyed with plants she grows herself. Her hangings are bands of colour that change slowly from one end to the other, named after seasons.
